ST. BALDRICK'S DAY: OLD AND NEW SHAVEES WELCOME / NEEDED
Hi Fr. Judge St. Baldrick’s Team!
I'm excited to announce the 2024 St. Baldrick's fund raising event is all set for Sunday, March 10th at Miller's Ale House in Commack. I'd like to ask you again to join our Fr. Judge K of C team and participate as a "Shavee."
It's very simple, just go to https://stbaldricks.org/teams/FrJudgeKofC2024 and click on "Join Us". When you sign up please remember to make the first donation to yourself. This will get you off to a good start and show others your commitment to helping in the fight against childhood cancer.
Last year with all your efforts we raised $7,323.00 so this year I bumped it up a little to $8,500.00. Over the last 17 years our Fr. Judge K of C team has raised more than $140,000! So, I'm hoping we can reach $150,000 this year.
Thanks again and I'm looking forward to working with you in this most worthwhile effort to fight this dread disease.
MARCH IS COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Dr. Lynn M. O'Connor, MD MPH FACS FASCRS graciously accepted our invitation to speak at our social meeting on Monday, March 18th.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Lynn M. O’Connor has made it her mission to provide patients with the foremost treatment, technology, and information related to preventive public health issues and colon and rectal health.
Not only is Dr. O’Connor an outstanding surgeon, she also served as the Director of the Women’s Colorectal Care Program for the Colorectal Surgical Associates in Great Neck, NY. Dr. O’Connor is outspoken with her concern about declining health patterns due to lack of exercise, growing obesity, and the increase in colon and rectal cancer among the young adult U.S. population.
